2 Dead, 2 Injured After Shooting Inside Antioch High School Cafeteria! (Footage)

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (FAMMTV) — A tragic shooting occurred in the cafeteria of Antioch High School in Nashville on Wednesday, resulting in the death of a female student and injuries to another. This incident echoes a previous school shooting in the city that sparked widespread discussion on gun control.

The shooter, identified as 17-year-old Solomon Henderson, a student at the same school, ended his life with a handgun following the attack, according to Metro Nashville Police spokesperson Don Aaron. Police Chief John Drake reported that Henderson targeted 16-year-old Josselin Corea Escalante in the cafeteria, fatally shooting her.

One student sustained a minor injury from a bullet graze and was later released from the hospital. Additionally, another student received treatment for a facial injury sustained during a fall amid the chaos, Aaron noted.

Law enforcement, including federal and state agencies, are currently analyzing Henderson’s online writings and social media activity to determine a motive, as per a police statement issued Wednesday evening. No clear connection between Henderson and his victims has been established, and there’s a possibility the shooting was indiscriminate.

At the time of the shooting around 11 a.m., two school resource officers were present in the school but not near the cafeteria. By the time they arrived at the scene, the shooting had concluded with the shooter having taken his own life, Aaron explained.
