Boyfriend Fatally Stabs Woman in NYC Apartment, Then Jumps From Roof!
A 31-year-old woman was fatally stabbed by her boyfriend in their Queens apartment on Wednesday before the man jumped from the building’s seven-story roof, police and sources said.
Pheona Premraji was found with slash wounds to her face, neck, and body inside the second-floor unit on Neilson Street in Far Rockaway around midday. Her 32-year-old boyfriend is accused of the attack; the knife was recovered next to her.
Witnesses saw the man climb onto the roof and jump after neighbors urged him not to. He fell headfirst and was found with additional slash wounds on his wrists, ankles, and torso. He was taken to Mount Sinai South Nassau hospital in critical condition and had not been charged as of Thursday.
Officers discovered Premraji’s body after the building superintendent told them the jumper lived on the second floor.
The couple had been together about six years. Relatives and neighbors described a history of abuse and frequent arguments, with prior police responses to domestic incidents involving the pair. Premraji’s family said she remained close to her relatives despite the troubled relationship.
